Problem statement

Eco Herbalist needed to launch a wellness eCommerce site, but users couldn't trust vague product claims, struggled to find the right products, and abandoned purchases due to confusing layouts. Without addressing these trust and usability barriers, the launch would fail to convert visitors into customers, costing potential revenue and damaging brand credibility.

Challenge

The challenge was creating a trust-building eCommerce experience that would address navigation confusion, provide sufficient product information, build trust through credibility, and improve readability and accessibility. The design needed to enable confident purchases while maintaining a professional wellness brand identity.

We delivered a trust-building eCommerce experience with clear product information and ingredient transparency, symptom-based navigation that 70% of users prefer, simplified 3-step checkout, and zero navigation errors. The design achieved 100% task success rate in usability testing, enabling confident purchases and supporting successful product launch.

Readability Upgrades

Typography was repeatedly flagged as too small. Solution: Larger body text baseline, higher contrast, and improved spacing and section separation for better readability.

Introduced Full Product Detail Pages

Users wanted deeper info before buying. Solution: Clear sections for "Benefits", "How it works", "How to use", "Ingredients", "Side effects", comparison section for similar products, and sustainability/sourcing info for trust.

Improved Blog UX

Users liked content, but stacking articles confused some. Solution: Each blog opens on its own page, author cards with bio hover states, and clear categorization: Sleep, Women's Health, Stress, etc.

Rebuilt Product Navigation

Participants struggled to access product categories. Solution: New top-level "Products" label, symptom-based filtering as primary pathway, and fewer steps between homepage → product selection.

Checkout Flow Refinements

Missing features (remove button, support link) disrupted trust. Solution: Fixed remove-from-cart functionality, added "Contact Support" CTA on confirmation page, and kept persistent order summary visible.
